Can Housework Be Fun?

Does the thought of picking up a feather duster or switching on the vacuum cleaner leave you bored and listless? I have never been a big fan of housework and I wonder whether I can come up with some ideas to make it just a little bit more bearable.

What about some fun laundry room ideas? If you have one of these rooms then it is pretty boring, right? A washing machine? Dull! A dirty linen basket? Yawn! Why not liven it up by adding a pool table and a big screen TV? That would technically make it a laundry entertainment room and that certainly sounds a lot better doesn’t it?

Why bother tidying when you can throw everything away when it gets dirty? I know someone who only ever uses plastic cutlery and disposable plates. Maybe I could go a step further and get some throw away tables and chairs from cheap furniture stores. Wouldn’t it be great to smash up the furniture with an axe and throw it away when it got dirty instead of cleaning it?

What can I do with my front yard landscaping to give me an easier life? I reckon that getting a man with a big cement mixer to cover the whole place in concrete might be a good idea. I’ll just need to wait until my wife goes out for a couple of days before I do this, as I don’t think that she will be too happy to see her palm tree and hortensias disappear under a sea of cement. Still, no more watering the plants and cutting the grass for me.

Don’t you just hate bugs? It’s the rainy season here and the house gets filled with flies, mosquitoes, spiders and big black buzzing things which kind of scare me. I was thinking about getting a fruit fly trap to stop me having to swot them and then clean up the mess (cockroaches are especially messy when squished it seems but flies can leave their mark too ). Every bug I can cunningly trap is one less messy pile of gunge I need to wipe off the wall, which can only be a good thing.
