It Is Raining

Today it rained. That might not be an unusual statement in many parts of the world but it is here. After growing up in wet and windy days it is weird to now live somewhere with a dry season which lasts about 8 months.  With news of Hurricane Sandy hitting North America I guess we just had a very minor storm in comparison but it got me thinking about all things rain related for the.

Chicken with What?

We went to my mother in law’s house for dinner yesterday. It was fine. Honestly. The only weird bit is that she made some sort of caramel (or caramelised) chicken. I am not sure what that was all about but it was quite tasty. It did get me thinking though. More specifically, it got me thinking about what other weird things I could do with my poultry dishes. Would chicken with beeswax and honey sauce.

A New Sporting Challenge

As a young laddie growing up in Scotland I was not averse to kicking a ball about or swinging my undersized arms at various sporting type targets. Golf was a particularly favourite hobby of mine but it is time to find a new sport I think. Would black mold removal be a fun sport? I can imagine a group of us lining up in front of a wall filled with black mould and trying frenetically.

Time for New Words

I learned Spanish a few years ago and blooming exciting it was too. That’s right, it might not look like it at times but English is actually my mother tongue. Now that I can order a cafe con leche without many problems and might even be able to defend myself in a court of law I have decided that it is time to learn a new language. The question is which one should I learn.

2013 Will be the Year of the ….?

According to the Chinese 2013 will be the year of the snake. I tend to trust the Chinese on matters such as these but I decided to see whether there is a chance that it could be the year of something else. What about the year of the outdoor furniture cushions? It might not have the same ring to it as the year of the snake but I think it is time that we all.
