IKEA Singapore

IKEA is a company that has many stores in a lot of different countries around the world. Although it is a Swedish company, their head office is in Netherlands. There are a total of two stores in Singapore that appear to be as popular as they are in the rest of the world. The following are the top resources for IKEA Singapore including one resource that I do not suggest.

  1. The IKEA Singapore Websites: What better place to get information on the product then to go directly to their website. What is great about IKEA in particular is that they have a different website for each country; however these remain consistent with the same format just changing the information so that it applies to the specific countries. (www.ikea.com/sg)
  2. Ikea Friends: IKEA friends is a loyalty program for customers of the two IKEA stores in Singapore. By singing up to become a member, you get product offers, discounted meals, e-newsletters, Points program where you can redeem points, and activities and events specific for members. I chose this website as it appears to offer great rewards. (www.ikea-friends.com)
  3. IKEA catalogue: This is a direct link to the IKEA catalogue for the two IKEAs in Singapore. The reason I chose this website, is so that you have a direct link for the catalogue without having to find it on the website. Their catalogue features all the products that are available online, and most of the products that are in-store. (Singapore-ikea.com)
  4. Smales: You may be asking what Smales is, well it is a program for kids at IKEA in Singapore. I chose this as it seems like a fun group for children to be a part of. It has many activities on their websites, as well as a play area in the Singapore stores. What better way for a parent to get their shopping done when kids are excited about going to IKEA therefore it becomes a fun activity for the entire family. (www.smales.com.sg)
  5. IKEA Shuttle: So here’s an interesting part of IKEA Singapore: they actually have a shuttle bus that takes customers to and from their stores. The reason I chose this is because I thought it was very useful for people wanting to get to and from IKEA. The IKEA Alexandra shuttle operates on weekends; while the IKEA Tampines operates weekdays also. (singapore-ikea.com)
  6. IKEA embraces sustainability: This website is an article that talks about how IKEA works to ensure the environment and social issues are taken into consideration while they are operating all their stores. I chose this website, because I think it is good for customers to get information on how IKEA is known as a green company, as I think as consumers we should try to shop only at such stores. (www.greenbusinesstimes.com)
  7. IKEA restaurant review from trip advisor: IKEA in Tampines has a restaurant that serves Singaporean and Swedish dishes. I decided to pick the Trip Advisor website because it was the site with the most reviews and it is reputable. I think sometimes when trying a new restaurant it is a good idea to check the reviews prior. (www.tripadvisor.com)
  8. IKEA Singapore Promotions: This website gives a list of promotions that the IKEA Singapore stores are having. The reason I chose the site is because it appears to be updated fairly frequently, and they do give an image of the flyer for what is on sale at the store. (singapore-promotion.com)
  9. How to shop at IKEA Singapore: If you have already been to IKEA, you know that it can be quite overwhelming when you enter for the first time because of all the departments and the size of the store. This article gives you a list of how to shop in their Singapore stores. I chose it because I thought it was a really good idea to have this article available to customers on their website. The article gives some useful information that people might not always think about. (singapore-ikea.com)
  10. IKEA Hackers: IKEA hackers take IKEA products and modify them. They do this by either adding simple things or completely redesigning them. This is a website where anyone who has modified an IKEA product can post what they have created while sharing their ideas with others. The reason I chose this website is because they have many great ideas, and also because the people doing the posts are not being paid by IKEA, and the owner of the blog keeps it simple without too much advertisement. (www.ikeahackers.com)
  11. My Voucher Code: I chose this website as the resource that I don’t recommend for IKEA Singapore. When I searched “IKEA Singapore deals” in Google, this is actually one of the first sites that came up. Well, the first thing I judge a website on is its ease of read, and most importantly one thing that raises a red flag is a popup as soon as I get to the page. So once I close the popup, I notice that the “coupons” it has brought up for me are not even for IKEA, so I decided to give the website a chance and make a search in their websites search engine. The only thing that came up is an offer for a survey with a chance to win an IKEA gift card. (www.myvouchercodes.co.uk)
