Creative in the Kitchen

Do you hate cooking? I can’t say that it is something which I hate but I have to confess that my cooking skills are less then earth shattering. Maybe instead of giving up I should try and get more creative instead.

Could I arrange for some premium lobster dining at home? I am not sure that a plate of boiled crustacean is really my bag of fun but I guess I could give it a go. The only problem is that I haven’t seen any type of lobster for sale within about 200 miles of where I live. Do I need to move closer to the sea to give it a try?

Given my penchant for sweet fruit drinks maybe I could incorporate some mango and banana juice into my meals. I don’t there is anything wrong with doing this, although I don’t know how it would turn out. Well, maybe I do, as I made tropical stovies a couple of year ago. This is a Scottish dish but by adding some local mango and plantain bananas it became a lot more interesting. Next up are jungle haggis and exotic shortbread.

Can you believe that there are no frozen meat distributors around these parts? I need to buy the stuff fresh. If I am being honest there are very few frozen foods on offers, which is a bit of a shock to the system when you are used to browsing the fish fingers and frozen pizzas section of your local UK supermarket. I know it is healthier eating fresh food but its a bit boring having to cook the stuff all the time.

If all else fails I could order catering in Winnipeg. I realise that it is a bit far for the grub to travel but it sure beats slaving away in the kitchen for hours without a clue about what I am even trying to do.
