Things the World Needs

Have you ever had a sudden realisation that you have an idea for something which could be of benefit to humanity? I think the first time I thought like this was when I had a sleepless night dreaming about my great new invention of urban football golf. Let’s see if I can come up with something else equally good.

I have to say that florescent paint is great but wouldn’t it be a whole lot better if there was something like striped paint? You could have a pot which is divided in different compartments and as you run your brush over it it gets covered in the different colours. I just tried a trial run of this at home and the results were messy but inconclusive.

I have a fantastic portable water heater for making tea on the go and I was thinking that you could build an electric water heater into a keyring or a Swiss army knife. As a Brit I believe that a regular cup of tea is the right of every man, woman and child on the face of the Earth. However, as I live in South America I tend to drink yerba mate infusions, and for these little beauties a regular supply of a lot of hot water on the go is a must have.

I love the sound of outdoor chair cushions but why not go one step further and get a full outdoor bed? If you are going to get all comfortable in the open air you might as well do it with an outdoor pillow under your head and covered up with an outdoor duvet. Sleeping under the stars could become a whole new experience for a lot of people, although you need to go in and sleep indoors at some point, or run the risk of becoming a bit weird.

It’s all very well getting some cheap patio furniture and having a picnic in your garden next to your bed but wouldn’t it be easier to have a home with removable walls? This means that your (indoor) dining room could become your (outdoor) dining room at the drop of a hat. Think about it and you know it makes sense.
